Scripture teaches that believers are created in Christ to do good works, yet many of us lack a clear sense of how to live that out. God has given every believer a spiritual gift to serve Him authentically and fulfill that divine purpose. Ultimately, the goal for every Christian is to discover this ministry, using their unique gifting to glorify God and serve others.
Our annual Women’s Breakfast will be on Saturday, October 24th at 9:30am. Our guest speaker is April Ellis. April is a wife, mom, and educator who loves to recognize God’s faithfulness in both the beautiful and unexpected parts of life. A native Arizonan, April has been married to her husband, Scot, for almost 28 years, and together they have raised two sons, Tyler and Dylan (23 and 21). April spent the early years of her career in the corporate world before God redirected her path toward children’s ministry and eventually the classroom. She has now spent more than 14 years as an educator and currently teaches first grade at Valley Christian Schools. In 2026, she was honored as one of just 12 recipients nationwide of the Herzog Foundation’s Christian Teacher of the Year Award. She also serves as a part-time instructor with Arizona State University.
